01 / OVERVIEW

Two Town-owned arrays serving municipal buildings

Rec PTO Oct. 29 · PSB PTO Nov. 12, 2025

Production is reported by calendar month. Eversource bills use meter-reading periods, so monthly production and bill figures are shown together for context but are not treated as identical periods.

BUILDING USE WITH SOLAR

Estimated total electricity use

January–September · same months each year

Estimated building use = electricity purchased from the grid + solar produced − solar exported. SolarEdge production is by calendar month; Eversource purchases, exports and costs are by billing period. The comparison covers 9 complete months in both years and remains approximate until the periods are aligned. Later incomplete months are excluded.

03 / VALUE

How the Town receives value

Period-specific rates applied
1

Solar used in the building

Avoids applicable supply and per-kWh delivery charges. Fixed customer charges remain.

2

Solar sent to the grid

Creates net-metering credits. Recreation production can exceed the Office and Storage meters' combined use.

3

Renewable energy certificates

Each 1,000 kWh can create one REC. Revenue is shown only when production is reported and payment is confirmed.

Estimated production value

SolarEdge production × the total Eversource cost per kWh in effect for each month shown.

04 / ROOF CONTEXT

Public Safety Building roof timing

PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING

The roof was replaced before the array was installed

The roof was about 20 years into an expected 30-year life. Replacement was advanced to avoid removing and reinstalling the solar array later.

Reported roof cost: $42,800. The supporting invoice still needs review. Solar-only recovery and combined solar-plus-roof recovery will be shown separately.

05 / DATA STATUS

What is measured and what is still being verified

Solar production

Monthly AC energy from SolarEdge reports. September daily production reports are included. October production is not shown as a complete month.

Electric bills

Monthly Eversource statements for each site, using electricity charges and net grid kWh.

Production value

Uses the total Eversource cost per kWh for each February–July or August–January rate period.

REC revenue

$342 has been paid for 10 RECs. Q1 production and GIS reporting still need reconciliation.

Calculation rules

Monthly production value = SolarEdge production × the total Eversource cost per kWh in effect for that calendar month. The displayed value does not add export credits, REC income or demand-charge effects.

Monthly bill changes can also reflect rates, weather, operating hours and equipment use. A lower bill after solar installation is not labeled solar savings by itself.

FUTURE SCHOOL REPORTING

School PPA Solar

School systems are third-party-owned under power purchase agreements. Production, purchases and costs will be added when verified source data is available, separately from Town-owned municipal solar.
