01 / BUILDINGS

Trailing 12-month electric cost

Actual electricity charges are grouped to match annual 2026 General Fund budget lines where the budget covers more than one meter. Budget remaining equals the full 2026 annual budget minus January–October 2026 electricity costs. A positive amount remains for the rest of the year; a negative amount is over budget. Missing months are never treated as zero. Costs are each month's electricity charges after new credits, excluding payments and balances carried forward. A credit is counted once, when earned; using it to pay a later bill does not reduce that later month's cost again.

Recreation credit balance, September 2026: $72.27 available for future bills, made up of $27.19 carried from August plus September's $45.08 credit. September's invoice cost is −$45.08; no payment is due. The $72.27 balance is not an additional saving.

SOLAR AND BUILDING USE

Electricity used, including solar

January–September · same months each year

Estimated building use = electricity purchased from the grid + solar produced − solar exported. SolarEdge production is by calendar month; Eversource purchases, exports and costs are by billing period. The comparison covers 9 complete months in both years and remains approximate until the periods are aligned. Later incomplete months are excluded.

HISTORICAL TREND

Annual electric cost and net grid electricity

Net grid electricity is electricity received from Eversource minus solar electricity sent back to the grid. PSB and Recreation figures subtract solar exports; Recreation combines the Office and Storage meters. A negative value means exports exceeded purchases during that billing period. These figures do not measure total building consumption, which also includes solar electricity used on site. A drop after solar was installed does not by itself mean the building used less electricity. The January–September comparison above estimates solar used on site; monthly production and billing periods are not identical.
